Books That Heal: How Your Gently Used Books Can Help Fund Mental Health Care

At Arcus Behavioral Health and Wellness, we believe that healing begins with connection and sometimes, that connection starts with a good book. That is why we are excited to share a unique way you can support access to mental health care in our community by donating your gently used books.

In our cozy lobby, you will find more than just a waiting room. You will discover a personally curated selection of books on mental health, psychology, sociology, social justice, and wellness. Each title has been hand selected by our Executive Director, Dr. Louis Haynes, to reflect the values we hold dear: healing, equity, understanding, and empowerment.

Here is the best part. All proceeds from our lobby book sales go directly to the Arcus Mental Health Equity Fund, which subsidizes the cost of care for clients who are uninsured or underinsured, those who may otherwise face insurmountable financial barriers to accessing therapy. Whether it is individual counseling, family therapy, or crisis support, your book donation helps someone receive life changing care they could not otherwise afford.

It is Easy to Contribute

You can donate books between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM, even when our office is closed. Just drop your books off in the vestibule in front of our office. Grab a donation receipt, leave your books in the bin, and know that you are making a difference.
