Faith Hunt

Clinical Intern

Hi! I’m a clinical intern with a master’s degree in clinical psychology from The Chicago School, where I am currently studying to complete my PsyD in clinical psychology as well. I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Florida State University. I have experience working in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and community mental health settings, and I’m currently training at a college counseling center. I’m particularly passionate about working with identity as a constantly changing and evolving facet of the self, as well as increasing the accessibility of quality mental health treatment.

My approach to therapy is founded on the humanistic belief that you are the expert in your experience. I follow where you lead, and meet you where you are. As a student and someone who is both queer and nonbinary, I believe in the importance of flexibility and curiosity, especially throughout the therapy process. Though I’m often guided by Gestalt and Emotion-Focused techniques, I prioritize adapting interventions to best meet your needs.

I believe that therapy and the therapeutic relationship should be based in collaboration, and the space I cultivate for this relationship is always based in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I aim to help you explore your emotions in the moment, make meaning from your experiences, and move toward greater self-understanding and empowerment. Rather than looking individually at all the different pieces that make you up, I focus on seeing and understanding you as a whole, and helping you do the same.
