Dinayra "Dina" Sorando Rivera
Clinical Intern
Hello! I am a bilingual counselor-in-training currently pursuing a dual master’s degree in Clinical Counseling and Sport and Human Performance at Adler University. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Social Studies and have a background as a student-athlete, which has given me a unique perspective on the connection between mental and physical health.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I carry with me the resilience and strength of my community. As a proud Latina and queer individual, I understand the unique challenges that can arise from navigating intersecting identities in a complex world. My passion lies in advocating for social justice and creating spaces where everyone can feel seen, heard, and valued.
My ideal clients are individuals from the Latino community, Latine LGBTQ+ individuals, children, young adults, athletes, and others who are navigating the complexities of identity, mental health challenges, or the pressures associated with performance. My approach to counseling is a collaborative journey where we work together to explore your feelings, challenges, and goals. I use a combination of evidence-based techniques and empathetic listening to help you uncover patterns, develop coping strategies, and empower you to make meaningful changes in your life. Whether you're facing anxiety, identity struggles, or life transitions, I'm here to support you every step of the way.
