Hi, I am a bilingual licensed professional counselor, and I graduated from Roosevelt University with a MA in Clinical Professional Psychology. I also hold a BA in psychology and a minor in Fine Arts from Northeastern Illinois University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I also work with minority and underserved populations including immigrants, LGBTQ+, HIV/AIDS, and non-traditional (including poly/kink) relationships.
Dealing with everyday stressors can be overwhelming at times, and seeking support through therapy is an important step in the healing process. In order to support others, I see therapy as a collaborative journey where clients can explore and maximize their potential for self-healing. I strongly believe that individuals already possess strengths and the essential skills to overcome adversity and therapy can help them uncover those strengths/skills. By creating a non-judgmental environment, I assist clients in achieving their goals while honoring their personal values.
My approach to therapy is behavioral and affirmative therapy with a mix of other therapies to create a holistic approach that can meet the client's expectations. I believe that individuals have the potential of becoming a better version of themselves "nobody knows you better than yourself." I use compassion and empathy as my biggest values in therapy as I firmly believe connecting with your therapist is the foundation of the healing process.
